Job summary

Mingus Mountain Youth Treatment Center in Arizona is seeking a Youth Care Technician to provide direct care for adolescents in a residential behavioral health setting. You will support daily living activities, maintain safety, and reinforce treatment goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years combined education and/or relevant experience in human services, behavioral health, social services, or related field.
• Preferred experience working with youth or in behavioral health settings.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Pass a comprehensive background check and obtain Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, accountability, and security of campus
• Teach, coach, and supervise students in daily living activities (morning, bedtime, overnight procedures, hygiene, housekeeping, meals, intramurals, sports, academics, extracurricular activities) on and off campus
• Observe peer culture for patterns of behavior indicating progress or regression
• Observe individual student behavior over time and recognize progress toward treatment goals
• Effectively communicate both written and orally
• Follow and implement individual treatment plans for all students
• Recognize escalated behaviors and intervene appropriately to ensure safety and security

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary: $18.50 per hour
• Shift differential $2–$3 per hour
• Signing bonus: $2,500

Mingus Mountain Youth Treatment Center is a nonprofit residential behavioral health treatment center serving adolescents with serious emotional, behavioral, and substance use disorders in Arizona. It offers trauma‑informed, clinically sophisticated care with 24/7 therapeutic support.

Work Environment

Team includes licensed therapists, behavioral health technicians, nurses, case managers, educators, and direct care professionals. The culture is supportive, focused on safety, growth, and staff development.

Location

In person, Arizona.

Shift Availability

• 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m., weekend availability required
