Job summary

Delta-T Group connects professionals with client opportunities in the social service and behavioral health sectors. The Direct Care Counselor role involves supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a Residential Programs setting, including personal care, community living, and skills development.

The position may require CPR/First Aid and a valid driver’s license; MAP certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year experience working with adults with intellectually and/or developmentally disabilities in a health care setting.
• Must be self-motivated with a positive, energetic, and professional demeanor.
• Ability to maintain First Aid/CPR, and other certifications as required.
• MAP certification is preferred but not required
• Must possess a valid driver's license to transport Individuals as needed
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities
• Must be reliable and dependable with both the care you give as well as attendance
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and reinforce personal care/hygiene tasks, community living, communication and socialization skills
• Implement person-centered activities and goals that create and maintain a supportive environment
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation including progress notes and reports that meet State and federal requirements
