Job summary

Acadia Healthcare is seeking a dedicated caregiver for daily one-on-one or group instruction with patients in our facility in Gulfport, Mississippi. The role focuses on supporting treatment activities, ensuring safety, and promoting independence through hands-on guidance and meaningful activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily one-on-one or group instruction/assistance to patients.
• Complete routine daily vehicle checks when driving is required.
• Monitor data collection sheets and submit to supervisor on time.
• Assist with assessment of clients' strengths and needs.
• Assist with preparation of clients' meals and provide training as needed.
• Communicate needs to supervisor to revise training objectives as necessary.
• Maintain facility in a neat, orderly manner.
• Monitor and document individual behaviors using specific terms (behavior changes, accidents, etc.).
• Encourage independence and participation in activities.
• Provide positive assurance regarding treatment benefits and participation.
• Foster a therapeutic environment that supports learning through hands-on guidance.
• Maintain a positive, empathetic, professional attitude; address complaints and prioritize patient safety.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
