Job summary

MultiCare Health System is seeking a Director of Security to design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive Security programs across the system. You will lead embedded Security leaders in matrixed teams, set strategic initiatives, and drive performance, regulatory readiness, and service excellence.

This role requires a strong security background, 8+ years in security with 5+ years in leadership, plus a valid state driver license. Preference for CHPA or ASIS/IAHSS involvement and advanced degrees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field required (security, law enforcement).
• Eight (8) years of progressive professional/technical experience in security.
• Five (5) years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
• Current Washington State Driver's License; and proof of a safe driving record obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator or other security professional certification preferred.
• Active member in the International Association of Hospital Security and ASIS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the development, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive and effective Security programs for MultiCare Health System.
• Provide leadership to embedded Security leaders in highly matrixed teams; establish strategies, metrics and service level agreements.
• Develop and implement policies, standard operating procedures and protocols in accordance with national, state, local, and Joint Commission; monitor performance and compliance.

Position Summary

The Director of Security directs the development, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive and effective Security program(s) for MultiCare Health System. The Director provides leadership to embedded Security leaders in highly matrixed teams across the MultiCare System; establishes, directs and monitors strategic initiatives to ensure highly reliable and safe Security programs are operational, continually improving, are cost-effective, competitive and relevant to their market(s); serves as the system's subject matter expert; establishes strategies; key metrics, customer service excellence standards, and service level agreements; develops and implements policies, standard operating procedures and protocols in accordance with national, state, local, and Joint Commission; monitors program performance and performance improvement activities and ensures continual survey and regulatory readiness/compliance. Hospital-based leaders may have a dual matrixed reporting structure.

Requirements

• Five (5) years in a managerial or supervisory capacity
• Current Washington State Driver's License; and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state or ability to obtain upon hire
• Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator or other security professional certification preferred
• Active member in the International Association of Hospital Security and ASIS preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $124,425.60 - $179,046.40 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
