Job summary

Servier is seeking a Director, Thought Leader Liaison to oversee a national TLL team focused on rare neurological diseases. The role reports to the VP of Marketing and guides engagement, strategy, and insight synthesis to inform brand plans and launches.

You will lead a 6-person TLL team, collaborate across Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales, and Patient Advocacy, and drive strategies for congresses and educational programming. Remote role with travel expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry.
  • 5+ years in Thought Leader Liaison, Product Marketing, Specialty Sales, Medical Affairs leadership, or Commercial field leadership.
  • Experience in rare disease, specialty pharmaceuticals, or neurology.
  • Strong understanding of commercial compliance and promotional regulations.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Role Summary

The Director, Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) is a strategic commercial leader responsible foroverseeing the development and executionof engagement strategies with national, regional, and emerging Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in rare neurological diseases. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this roleprovides strategic oversight for the commercial relationship managementof thought leaders and ensures the synthesis of actionable insights to inform brand strategy and launch planning.

The Director provides leadership and management for a national team of TLLs, focusing on team development, strategic alignment, and cross-functional integration with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales, and Patient Advocacy.

The Director will build and manage a team of 6 TLLs.

Primary Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Strategic Oversight

  • Lead, hire, develop, and retaina high-performing national team of TLLs
  • Provide consistent coaching and professional development to ensure the team meets engagement and insight objectives
  • Translate corporate and brand strategy into clear operational plans for the field-based TLL team

Thought Leader Strategy & Advocacy

  • Oversee the developmentof comprehensive KOL engagement plans across the TLL team to ensure consistency and impact
  • Guide the team in building long-term, trusted relationships with multidisciplinary care teams and centers of excellence
  • Ensure a coordinated, compliant, and customer-centric engagement strategy across the organization

Strategic Insight Synthesis

  • Synthesize field-generated insightsfrom the TLL team to influence brand strategy, messaging, and evidence generation
  • Present high-level strategic recommendations to Commercial Leadership based on aggregated trends in diagnosis, treatment patterns, and unmet needs
  • Direct the strategyfor commercial advisory boards, ensuring objectives are met and insights are communicated cross-functionally
  • Provide strategic oversight for the physician speaker bureau, ensuring high-quality educational programming and compliance

Congress & Launch Excellence

  • Lead the overarching strategyfor major neurology congresses, coordinating the team's engagement activities and executive leadership interactions
  • Drive launch readiness by ensuring the team identifies educational gaps and shapes peer-to-peer educational strategies at scale
Candidate Profile

Education and Required Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in people leadership, managing field-based commercial or medical teams
  • Proven success in strategic thinking and building executive-level relationship frameworks
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, PharmD, PhD, MSN, MS) preferred
  • Minimum 10+ years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years in one or more of the following: Thought Leader Liaison, Product Marketing, Specialty Sales, Medical Affairs leadership, Commercial field leadership
  • Demonstrated experience in rare disease, specialty pharmaceuticals, or neurology
  • Strong understanding of commercial compliance and promotional regulations
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

Travel and Location

  • Ability to travel (approximately 60–70%) to support team development, attend congresses, and engage with key stakeholders
  • This is a remote role. Occasional presence (1-2 times/quarter) in the Boston office required for workshops, key strategy meetings, etc.

Salary Range

The salary range for this role is $200-$245k. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. Employees in this position are also eligible for Short-Term and Long-Term incentive programs.
