Job Description
Job Summary

Perform data and error analysis to improve models, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy. Evaluate, write, and present healthcare utilization and cost containment reports, making recommendations based on relevant findings. Execute data science and statistical analytical experiments systematically to help solve various problems and make a significant impact across healthcare domains.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Direct strategic analysis and planning for Health Plans, coordinating across business units to meet data analysis needs.
  • Mentor, coach, and guide team members.
  • Identify and prioritize departmental goals aligned with the operating plan, budget, and regulatory requirements. Conduct deep dive analyses across health plans, provide actionable insights, and collaborate to optimize revenue and meet enterprise goals.
  • Monitor Medicaid/Medicare/Marketplace growth opportunities and policy developments; develop analytical frameworks to support business cases and address process gaps.
  • Partner with health plans to design Payment Integrity campaigns, evaluate performance, develop insights, and recommend actions.
  • Present complex analytical information clearly to diverse audiences. Collaborate with analytics team to manage project delivery.
  • Adapt to changing business needs by identifying data solutions and technological opportunities, referring to appropriate teams for implementation.
  • Apply statistical and computational methods to provide actionable insights, optimize quality, enhance consumer experience, and reduce healthcare costs.
  • Develop scalable, efficient, and automated processes for large-scale data analysis, model development, validation, and deployment.
  • Design algorithms and models to analyze big data, perform error analysis, and ensure data quality.
  • Create novel approaches for data exploration, analysis, and feature selection from multidimensional data.
  • Conduct experiments systematically to solve healthcare problems and make impactful contributions.
  • Analyze data for trends and patterns, interpreting data with clear objectives.
  • Utilize a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from industry trends.
  • Implement tools and languages such as Hadoop, Power BI, R, Python, SQL, Impala SQL, Toad, Apache Superset, and relevant healthcare data science packages.
  • Build patient-focused population predictions, identify provider activity outliers, and develop related Python packages.
Job Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, or related field.

Experience: 5+ years leading healthcare analytics; 7+ years preferred in healthcare environments. Strong knowledge of Hadoop, Power BI, R, Python, SQL, Impala SQL, Toad, Apache Superset, and healthcare data science packages. Familiarity with relational databases and SDLC. Critical thinking skills for unstructured problems.

Physical Demands

Work environment is generally favorable, with adequate lighting and temperature. Primarily in an office setting, minimal exposure to hazards. Ability to sit for extended periods. Accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
