Job summary

Staffing Solutions of Hawaii is seeking a Line Cook to join a growing and dynamic team at a Kaimuki, HI location. This full-time, contract role requires a 3:00pm to 10:30pm dinner shift and on-time attendance as scheduled.

The position offers a fixed pay rate of $20/hour and favors candidates with 6 months of line cook experience. Responsibilities include knife skills, various cooking methods, prep and station organization, and maintaining food safety practices in a fast-paced kitchen

Qualifications

• Hawaii State food safety and sanitation guidelines knowledge.
• Proficiency in knife skills and fundamental cooking methods.
• Basic understanding of meat, poultry, and fish butchery.
• Ability to cut consistent portion sizes.
• Must possess a current TB clearance.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and wear non-slip shoes.
• Comfortable in hot and humid environments for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Use knife skills to provide standard cuts and sizes and consistent portioning.
• Sauté, roast, grill, fry, steam, and blanch various foods.
• Assist with food prep, including cutting, chopping, mixing, and sauce preparation.
• Maintain prep sheets, labeling, dating, and proper food storage.
• Assist with prep and utility duties while working on a team.
• Manage tasks efficiently during service and maintain an organized workstation.
• Efficiently work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Follow directions and communicate well with the kitchen team.
