Job summary

The Fountains at Mill Cove in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Dining Services Supervisor to assist the Director in daily supervision of dining room staff and to ensure smooth opening, proper service, and attractive meal presentation for residents.

The role involves staffing, scheduling within budget guidelines, training and performance management, and maintaining a clean, safe dining environment in collaboration with the Director and other departments.

• Work with Director to produce weekly schedules within budget guidelines.
• Assist service staff during mealtimes and assist in resident billing of food services charges.
• Oversee staff in absence of Manager and supervise special events.
• In consultation with Director, hire, train, discipline and terminate staff per policy.
• Maintain good working rapport with other departments to ensure food service meets residents' needs.

Job description

1. Assists Director with daily supervision of dining services associates.

2. Ensures smooth and timely opening and closing of the dining room. Ensures room service orders are delivered timely and properly. Ensures meals are palatable and appetizing in appearance. Maintains a pleasant and clean environment. Inspects work to ensure completion.

3. Adheres to all safety and sanitation standards.

4. Plans daily assignments for associates in accordance with company standards and procedures.

5. Assists in ensuring proper staffing coverage for each shift including making changes due to absences.

6. Works with Dining Services Director/Dining Room Manager to produce weekly schedules with budgetary guidelines for service staff.

7. Assists service staff during mealtime as needed. Assists in greeting and seating residents and guests. Assists in resident billing of food services charges.

8. Oversees staff in absence of Manager. Provides supervision for special events.

9. In consultation with the Dining Services Director, hires, trains, disciplines and terminates departmental employees in accordance with company policy.

10. Develops and maintains good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as with other departments within facility to assure that food service is properly maintained and meets the needs of the residents.
