Job summary

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a Dining Shift Leader for Husker Heroes to oversee daily operations, lead by example, and ensure high-quality guest service in a fast-paced campus dining environment.

You will guide daily food production, service, cleaning, and stocking while maintaining standards and supporting staff through training and mentorship. Schedule varies, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with three years dining/restaurant experience; equivalent will be considered
• Experience in training new staff is preferred
• Supervisory experience is preferred
• Ability to read, write, weigh and measure
• Ability to communicate essential information clearly

• Leading by example through a servant leadership approach
• Supporting daily operations including food production, front-end service, cleaning, opening/closing procedures, and stocking
• Delivering outstanding guest service while resolving questions and concerns in a professional manner
• Assigning daily responsibilities to team members based on operational needs and staffing levels

Description Of Work

The Nebraska Unions Food Commons features a variety of dining options, including local favorites such as Valentino’s and Imperial Palace, as well as popular concepts like Sossy’s BBQ , Husker Hero’s, and Choolaah. We are seeking a Shift Leader to provide day-to-day leadership and support the daily operations of one of these dining concepts while helping deliver an outstanding guest experience.
