Position Summary

The Manager-In-Training (MIT) program is a 20-week interactive training designed to develop your management skills in areas such as:

  • Operational knowledge of kitchen equipment and food service roles.
  • Leadership in food preparation, service, and team supervision.
  • Adherence to policies, safety standards, and quality controls.
  • Recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Management responsibilities including staffing, budgeting, and training.
  • Effective communication and safety practices.
  • Delivering excellent customer and resident experiences.
Qualifications
  • Positive attitude with ability to follow instructions and perform routine tasks.
  • Leadership skills post-training, capable of working independently.
  • Preferred: Associate’s degree or higher in food service management or hospitality.
  • Required: Completion of Food Protection Manager course within 14 days of employment.
  • Certification as per state law (e.g., CDM, FSM, LTC-FSM).
  • Experience in food service, supervision, and recordkeeping preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work around food and cleaning products.
  • Must reside in the service area and be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
