Position Summary
Our Manager-In-Training (MIT) program offers a structured, approximately twenty-week interactive training experience, combining hands-on and computer-based learning. The program covers:
- General Training & Comprehension: Performing and teaching kitchen equipment operation, including roles like dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher.
- Leadership Development: Leading small teams in food prep, service, and cleanup.
- Policies & Procedures: Ensuring food quality, safety, inventory, and customer service standards are met, following all applicable regulations.
- Reporting: Maintaining records of income, expenses, supplies, personnel, and equipment.
- Training & Quality Control: Overseeing staff training, quality assurance, and kitchen assessments.
- Leadership Responsibilities: Managing payroll, staffing, purchasing, inventory, and budgeting.
- Communication: Conveying directives effectively to staff.
- Safety: Using PPE, handling cleaning solutions safely, reporting issues, and maintaining infection control standards.
- Punctuality: Consistent attendance and timely responses.
- Customer & Resident Experience: Providing courteous, positive interactions.
Qualifications
- Positive attitude, ability to follow instructions, perform routine tasks.
- Leadership skills post-training, with a focus on safety.
- Preferred associate’s degree or higher in food service management or hospitality.
- Completion of Food Protection Manager course within 14 days of employment.
- Certification as a Dietary Manager or equivalent as per law.
- Achieve Food Service Manager certifications within 60 days.
- Experience in food production, service, or supervision preferred.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
- Ability to complete sanitation and safety courses if required.
- Punctuality and reliable attendance essential.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
- Physical ability to lift/carry and stand for extended periods.
- Residence within the service area required.
