Job summary

Graceworks Lutheran Services in Centerville, OH is seeking Kitchen/Dining Assistants to help prepare meals and support dining operations for residents. This role offers full-time or part-time opportunities with a $500 bonus for full-time staff, shifts vary, and every other weekend work is expected.

Responsibilities include assembling meals from standardized recipes, maintaining cleanliness, stocking and receiving supplies, and delivering trays to dining rooms while ensuring safety and quality

Qualifications

• GED or better is required or equivalent.
• High school diploma or better preferred.
• Ability to read small print and discriminate color differences; must pass a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals using standardized recipes and production sheets.
• Perform all assembly positions for cooks on tray line.
• Wash pots, pans, and utensils after and during shifts.
• Assemble resident meals accurately within time limits.
• Maintain clean kitchen floors and grout areas daily.
• Take out trash and support recycling efforts.
• Receive items and verify quantities against orders.
• Monitor food temperatures and stock deliveries within 45 minutes.
• Deliver tray carts to dining rooms during service.

Full Time or Part Time openings

$500 Bonus (Full-Time Positions Only)

Every other weekend required

Compensation: $14.00 -$17.00 per hour - Based on experience

Job duties:

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, or supper items using standardized recipes, production sheets and production counts.
• Performs all assembly positions for cooks on tray line.
• Washes all pots, pans and cooking utensils at the end of each shift and as needed during the shift.
• Assemble resident meals, efficiently and accurately, within a given time period.
• Mops and cleans all kitchen flooring twice daily and especially grout to keep grime free.
• Takes out all trash at least twice daily and breaks boxes for recycling program as needed.
• Receives; checks to see that the item and number ordered are received.
• Monitors the temperature of food upon delivery and puts away all refrigerated and frozen food stock within 45 minutes of arrival.
• Delivers tray carts to the various dining rooms during meal service

Minimum Expierience: Must be able to read small print such as on measuring containers and manometers. Must be able to discriminate subtle color differences as in skin tones and packaging materials. The ability to pass a drug test, including testing for marijuana.

Preferred

Minimum Qualifications: Previous experience in quantity food preparation/service is preferred. The ability to read, follow directions and document as needed is necessary.
