Job summary

University Housing is seeking individuals to join our Dining and Culinary Services Food Service Assistant Advanced team! The Food Service Assistant Advanced prepares and serves food according to quality and safety standards to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve departmental goals.

Five 8-hour shifts weekly, in-person on campus, full-time ongoing. Starting wage is $17.75 per hour with night/weekend differentials and a $1,000 referral bonus.

Qualifications

• 6 months of food service experience in a professional setting.
• English proficiency required to communicate with customers.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and standards.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers, answers questions, and provides basic information regarding food preparation and associated activities
• Assists and guides student workers
• Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
• Prepares a variety of basic dishes such as sandwiches and salads, and assists in the preparation of more complex dishes
• Coordinates and performs the set-up and clean-up of preparation, production, service areas, catering events, and equipment
• Adheres to federal, state, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
• Performs routine food preparation activities such as portioning, chopping food, and serving food to customers
