Job summary

Harvard University Dining Services (HUDS) is seeking a General Service team member to support Front-of-House, Bus Person, and Dishroom functions. The role involves setting up stations, maintaining supplies, and ensuring food service quality during meals.

Expect responsibilities across multiple areas, with emphasis on safety, sanitation, and teamwork within a fast-paced dining environment on campus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be proficient in English (speaking, reading and writing).
• Basic math skills and ability to read digital/analog thermometers.
• Able to follow directions.
• Neat appearance and proper dress code as designated by HUDS.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong multitasking abilities and customer service focus.
• Customer service oriented and respectful to a diverse staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and maintains assigned station before, during and after meals.
• Keeps serving areas stocked with dishware, glasses, silverware, trays, and supplies.
• Monitors serving lines to meet customer demand and quality.
• Notifies supervisors about food quality and stock issues.
• Directs students/guests to safe menu items and storage areas as needed.
• Cleans and sanitizes surfaces and maintains clean storage areas.
