Job summary

Augustana College in Rock Island, IL seeks an Assistant Manager for Dining Services to schedule, supervise, plan, direct and oversee the work of full-time, temporary and student staff, ensuring the production, presentation and service of high‑quality meals.

This exempt, full-time position reports to the General Manager of Gerber Dining and involves leadership across a team to maintain quality, safety, and efficiency in all dining operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1–3 years in food service management or supervision preferred.
• Proficiency with basic computer software (Word, Excel, e-mail).
• Experience with computerized food service management and POS systems desired.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, supervise, plan, direct and oversee the work of full-time, temporary and student staff.
• Ensure production, presentation and service of high-quality food in Dining Services.
• Monitor costs, safety, sanitation and compliance with policies.
