Job summary

Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid in Lake Placid, New York is seeking a Dining Services Associate to help prepare and serve meals while supporting residents’ dietary needs. You will work with a caring team to create a welcoming dining experience and ensure high-quality service for our residents.

The role emphasizes reliability, attention to detail, and a friendly approach as you assist with meal delivery, maintain a clean kitchen, and support residents and families throughout dining

Qualifications

  • Minimum 16 years of age.
  • Employment Certificate/Permit required for applicable individuals.
  • Prior customer service experience preferred.
  • Prior food service, hospitality, serving, or restaurant experience desired.
  • ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of meals according to department procedures and assigned responsibilities.
  • Follow residents' individual diet orders, texture and consistency modifications, and menu preferences.
  • Serve meals in dining areas according to seating charts and resident tray tickets.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and dining environment.
  • Care for and maintain kitchen equipment.
  • Interact with residents and families regarding meal service when appropriate.
  • Help create a welcoming and positive dining experience for residents.
  • Participate in department and facility meetings, in-services, and required training.
  • Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, safety, HIPAA, and compliance policies.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Follow facility dress code and identification requirements.

Position Overview

As a Dining Services Associate, you'll help ensure residents receive nutritious meals that are prepared and served according to their individual dietary needs and preferences.

You'll assist with meal preparation and delivery, serve residents in dining areas, help maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, and provide friendly service throughout the dining experience.

  • This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
