Job summary

The Covenant Living at the Samarkand in Santa Barbara, CA seeks a part-time Dining Services Server to deliver prompt, friendly meal service to residents and guests. You will assist in dining room operations, light food prep, bussing, and setup for events, while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

Strong communication and dependable teamwork are essential. Prior food service experience and a current Food Handler’s Permit are preferred; ServSafe training is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; current Food Handler’s Permit required.
• 1 year of food service experience preferred, including serving/waiting tables and kitchen sanitation protocols.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions and follow safety practices.
• Strong communication skills and cordial, congenial manner with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, hospitality duties, and meal service, including serving food, waiting tables, and bussing tables.
• Serve breakfast, lunch and dinner to residents, guests, and staff in the Dining Room or Bistro; bus and reset tables as needed.
• Prepare salad bar items, stage desserts, and assist in setting up for meetings or events.
• Follow sanitation guidelines and maintain cleanliness of prep items; open/close dining rooms as needed.
