Job summary

Monarch Communities in Southbury, CT is seeking a part-time Dining Server to provide excellent resident dining experiences. You will take orders, serve meals, and assist with everyday dining room operations in a senior living environment.

The role requires multitasking, strong customer service, and a helpful attitude toward residents and staff. Evening and weekend shifts are included, with benefits for part-time employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Two years’ experience in fine dining hospitality and/or senior living preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills.
• Experience working with seniors is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take residents’ dining orders in a friendly and attentive manner.
• Serve meals and create a pleasant dining experience.
• Assist with setting up dining room and restocking supplies.
• Help with cleaning, sanitizing, and beverage preparation.
• Support residents with special dining requests and ensure attendance is documented.
• Assist with special events and participate in staff training.
• Comply with all regulations and community policies.

Job Description

The Dining Server will provide excellent customer service to our residents.Take resident orders, serving meals, providing assistance, and creating a pleasant dining experience for the resident.

Schedules:

• Salary Range:$17:00- 18:00 Hourly
• Part-time:weekends and evenings

Responsibilities and Duties

• Assist the Dining Room Manager with special projects as assigned
• Take residents’ dining orders in a friendly and attentive disposition
• Learn and retain residents’ names, special requests, and dietary restrictions
• Ensure dining room is set up, all items needed for service are readily available (silverware, napkins, menus, salt/pepper shakers, etc.)
• Assist with cleaning and sanitizing the dining room, menus, kitchen, serving stations, and other areas as directed
• Assist with preparation of beverages, snacks, desserts, salads, and condiments for service
• Assist residents with any special dining requests
• Ensure all residents are accounted for during each meal, and completing documentation of their attendance
• Assist with special events
• Participates in and attends all in-service training as scheduled
• Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as community policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned includingassisting staff, creating schedules, organizing side work, andguest relations.

Qualifications

Physical Abilities

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is often required to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell.
• An individual in this position will be required to lift or carry weight in up to 50 lbs. Intermittent physical activity includes lifting and supporting residents. The associate must use proper body mechanics.
