Job summary

True Connection Communities in Clinton Township, MI is seeking a Part-time Dining Room Supervisor at Pine Ridge of Garfield. You will oversee dining room operations, staff scheduling, setup, service and cleanup to ensure a smooth, pleasant dining experience for residents and guests.

You will train wait staff, monitor food quality and service standards, manage seating, and assist with budgeting while maintaining safety and hospitality.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in fine dining.
• Dining Room Supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Ability to stand or walk for 8-hour shifts and lift at least 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a customer focused attitude while managing the food distribution and serving responsibilities.
• Seat and greet residents, address concerns, and ensure needs are met during meals.
• Prepares schedules and assigns tasks to wait staff, including tables and closing duties.
• Ensure wait staff meets company standards for appearance, service, and food handling.
• Trains wait staff on procedures and menu education.
• Monitors operations within budgeted guidelines.
• Promotes resident engagement during meals and addresses satisfaction concerns.
• Maintain Toast POS System by updating items and staff as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $20.00 To $20.00 Hourly

Job Purpose

Under the direction of the Executive Chef, the Dining Room Supervisor oversees all aspects of the dining room operation, including staff scheduling, training, setup, service, breakdown, cleanliness, equipment, furnishings, and ordering of service-related food and service supplies for dining and special events. The Dining room Supervisor coordinates with kitchen staff to maintain smooth, efficient, and pleasant service at all times. Oversees the assignment of the setup of coffee breaks and hors d'oeuvres for large groups.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a customer focused attitude at all times while managing the food distribution, balancing the serving responsibilities among the food servers.
• Ensure visibility during meal times by seating and greeting residents, addressing any concerns, and ensuring that their needs have been met.
• Prepares schedules and assigns tasks to wait staff, including assigning tables and closing duties.
• Ensure wait staff meets company standards including appearance and dress attire, customer service standards, and proper food handling techniques.
• Trains wait staff on all operating procedures and menu education.
• Ensures efficient operating within budgeted guidelines.
• Promotes customer engagement activities and interacts with residents during meal times to monitor resident satisfaction or concerns about food service and develops plans to address as appropriate.
• Facilitate highest quality and service practices in all Food and Beverage sanitation standards and service to the residents in the dining room.
• Monitors and evaluates food quality for presentation, temperature, and serving portion size. Communicates with food kitchen personnel for adjustments and shares resident feedback.
• Monitors and evaluates table service adequacy for timing, etiquette and thoroughness; provides service hospitality training and adjustments as appropriate.
• Monitors and adjusts residents accounts for meal and charge accuracy.
• Ensure floor charts and tables are set up correctly.
• Assists servers as needed with table service.
• Maintains Toast POS System by adding menu items, adding/deleting employees to Toast system.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years’ experience in fine dining.
• Dining Room Supervisory experience preferred
• Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Ability to stand or walk for 8-hour shifts and lift at least 20 pounds.

Working Conditions

This position works in a fast-paced restaurant environment with exposure to heat, flames, cold temperatures, slippery floors and sharp cooking tools. This position may work in close contact with others. This position must comply with food safety regulations, which include appropriate clothing and protective gear such as hairnets, masks, disposable gloves and slip-resistant shoes.
