Job summary

MorningStar Senior Living in Colorado Springs is seeking a dining services team member to provide high-quality meals and foster a gracious environment for residents. You will take accurate orders, relay them to the kitchen, and deliver exceptional customer service during interactions with residents.

The role emphasizes serving hot and cold foods properly, learning residents’ dietary needs, and participating in trainings and meetings. Prior dietary experience is valued but not required.

Qualifications

• Demonstration of core values: Love, Kindness, Honesty, Goodness, Fairness, Respect.
• Experience in dietary department of a health care facility or restaurant preferred but not required.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Knowledge of ADA, state regulations, infection control and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Be present in dining room for full meal service.
• Assist special functions as scheduled.
• Maintain high cleanliness and sanitary environment.
• Oversee bistro areas including food presentation, cleanliness, stock, beverages.
• Know daily specials and how they’re prepared and presented.
• Learn resident names and dietary needs.
• Serve hot foods hot and cold foods cold.
• Attend trainings, orientation, and mandatory meetings.

Schedule: Thursday 10:30am-7:00pm, Sunday & Monday 10:30am-7:00pm

JOB SUMMARY

Provide service of high-quality meals and facilitation of a gracious environment. This entails; accurate communication and order taking, properly relaying meal orders to back of the house staff. Offer exceptional customer service, as part of all interactions with our cherished residents.

POSITIONOVERVIEW

• Be present in dining room for full meal service.
• Assist special functions as scheduled.
• Maintain high cleanliness, hygiene, and a sanitary and infection free environment at all times.
• Oversight of bistro areas as directed – food presentation, cleanliness, stock supplies, beverages, make popcorn, etc.
• Know the specials of the day and how they are prepared and presented.
• Learn individual resident names, dietary needs, requests, likes and dislikes.
• Must serve hot food hot and cold food cold.
• As directed, participate in the Quality Assurance Committee.
• Sanitize tables and chairs, reset tables, and vacuum floor after each meal.
• Attend all trainings, orientation, and mandatory meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience: Previous experience in the dietary department of a health care facility or restaurant preferred but not required.
• Job Knowledge: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Standards: Knowledge of and ability to meet regulations of ADA, state, infection and control, health department, and OSHA.
