Job summary

La Marea Senior Living is seeking a Server in Carlsbad, California. In this role, you will ensure a warm and friendly dining experience for our residents and guests by providing attentive meal service and maintaining a clean, organized space.

Job description

Server

Play an important role in creating a warm, welcoming dining experience for our residents and guests. You will be responsible for supporting daily dining operations by providing friendly, timely, and attentive meal service while maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting dining environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Take meal and beverage orders and serve food in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.
  • Ensure residents and guests are satisfied with their meals and dining experience.
  • Maintain knowledge of daily specials, menus, and food items to assist residents with selections.
  • Set up, maintain, and clean dining room tables, side stations, and surrounding areas.
  • Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
  • Practice proper food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including completing assigned checklists.
  • Support orientation and training of new servers as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of appearance, cleanliness, and hospitality.
  • Assist with dining room organization, flow, and supply placement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous dining or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Enjoys working with seniors and providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to interact professionally and courteously with residents, guests, and team members.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift trays, dishes, and supplies (up to 25–50 lbs.).
  • Possible exposure to cleaning chemicals and food service equipment.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends/holidays.
  • Comfort interacting closely with residents during meals.
