Job summary

Sagora Senior Living is hiring a Dining Room Manager to lead dining operations across our senior living communities. You will partner with the Culinary Director to hire, train, and schedule serving staff while ensuring residents receive outstanding service and meal experiences.

The role emphasizes supervising dining-room teams, maintaining service flow, upholding safety and sanitation, and supporting catering tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred (Hospitality Management desired).
• 3 years of progressive experience in the hospitality industry or equivalent.
• Must have a current Food Handler's permit.
• Ability to work all shifts and cover for shift openings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with Residents, families, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Interview, select, and train new culinary associates with the Culinary Director.
• Schedule servers.
• Maintain flow from kitchen to dining room ensuring residents receive preferences timely.
• Keep dining room clean and service-ready; deep clean kitchen monthly.
• Manage and supervise all service associates in dining room; assist with catering.
• Oversee alcohol service per regulations and Sagora policies.
• Maintain sanitation and safety responsibilities; ensure proper appearance and hygiene.

What does a Dining Room Manager at Sagora do?

• Interview, select, and train new culinary associates in conjunction with the Culinary Director
• Schedule servers
• Maintain the flow of service from the kitchen to the dining room to ensure all residents receive their preferences in both food and beverages timely
• Always keep the dining room clean and service ready
• Deep clean kitchen on a monthly basis
• Management and supervision of all service associates assigned to dining room
• Execution of catering responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
• Assist with management of alcohol service in accordance with state and federal regulations and Sagora Senior Living policies
• Management of all sanitation and safety functions and responsibilities
• Maintain proper personal appearance and hygiene according to established procedures for all food and beverage associates
• Assist with any records, reports, and paperwork as assignedDevelop and maintain good working relationships with associates
• Learn all departmental systems and serve as a relief backup operator for these systems as needed

What do you need to be a Dining Room Manager?

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred (Hospitality Management desired)
• 3 years of progressive experience in the hospitality industry or equivalent educational and experience combination
• Must have a current Food Handler's permit
• Ability to work all shifts and cover for shift openings that occur
• Organization skills with ability to multi-task in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate effectively with residents, families, and other team members.
