Dining Room Manager Responsibilities

The Dining Room Manager will ensure efficient restaurant operation and maintain high standards of production, productivity, quality, and customer service. They will supervise and coordinate activities of dining room staff to provide timely and courteous service to residents and guests.

Required Experience

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Effective speaking skills for groups of customers or employees.
• Good judgment in understanding and executing instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to handle problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
• High energy level and self-motivation.
• High standards in work quality.

Primary Responsibilities

• Staffing duties including interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, and scheduling.
• Scheduling dining reservations and organizing parties or special services.
• Greeting guests, escorting them to tables, and providing menus.
• Handling and resolving complaints to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Assigning tasks and coordinating dining room staff to ensure prompt service.
• Inspecting dining areas for cleanliness and neatness.
• Managing inventory of linens and supplies.
• Continuous improvement of organizational processes.
