Job summary

McLean in Simsbury, CT is seeking a compassionate Dining Services Ambassador to create warm, enjoyable mealtime experiences for residents.

You will greet residents, present menus, take orders, accommodate dietary needs, serve promptly, and maintain safety and cleanliness across dining areas.

This 32-hour weekly, on-site role offers competitive pay ($18-$21/hour) and a supportive team environment.

• Serve meals promptly and check back for satisfaction.
• Clear and reset tables between seatings and stock side stations.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards per health codes.
• Deliver meal trays to residents in their neighborhood as needed.

We have Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing residents on our 110-acre campus. We also house the McLean Center of Wellness, which includes Outpatient Rehabilitation. We have a Homecare and Hospice Agency, and an Adult Day Program. We steward over 4,400 acres of land with 28 miles of hiking trails at the McLean Game Refuge.

Day/eve hours - 32 hours weekly 6a-2:30p/10:30a-7:30p - flexible schedule

Pay Rate: $18.00 - $21.00/hr

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and friendly Dining Services Ambassador to provide exceptional mealtime experiences for our residents. In this role, you will do more than take orders—you will build genuine relationships, offer a warm and welcoming presence, and ensure each resident enjoys a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable dining experience!

In this role you will:

• Greet residents and guests with a warm, courteous attitude.
• Present menus, explain daily specials, and take food and beverage orders accurately.
• Accommodate special dietary needs, preferences, or modified-texture diets with patience and care.
• Serve meals and drinks promptly, checking back regularly to ensure satisfaction.
• Clear, sanitize, and reset tables between seatings.
• Stock and clean side stations, condiments, and beverage areas.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards in accordance with health codes.
• Learn residents’ names and dining preferences to provide consistent, personal service.
• Follow diet notes and meal instructions supplied by the resident care or dining team, without interpreting or changing those instructions
• Deliver meal trays to residents that are not in the dining room but rather on their neighborhood.
