We are recruiting four new Assistant Manager positions for the new dining location.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for administrative and supervisory work in food service management in a large dining commons. Assists the manager in overall operation, planning, organizing, and directing Dining Services personnel in food production and services. Holds regular production meetings, conducts sanitation inspections, and may perform additional duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in overall operation as directed by the manager.
• Assist in planning, organizing, and directing Dining Services personnel in food production and services.
• Assist in scheduling of employees, opening/closing procedures, interviewing, and hiring.
• Assist in conducting regular sanitation inspection program.
• Perform all other work related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 8 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of food service operations with a diversified staff.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Special event planning and production experience.
• Knowledge of food service sanitation and health & safety requirements.
• Basic PC and food production software knowledge.
• Ability to supervise others and maintain various records.
• Knowledge of institutional or commercial Food Service management procedures.
• Considerable knowledge of food values, nutrition, and menu planning.

Physical Demands

Perform physical activity including moving loads up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 30 lbs, repetitive wrist/arm/shoulder motion, reach, climb, balance, crouch, twist, crawl, kneel. Works in noisy, hot/cold environments with chemicals, cleaning equipment, dust, fumes, and odors. Long hours standing. Must drive if required.
