Ecumen Meadows in Worthington, MN is hiring a part-time Dining Assistant. The role is 21 hours per 2 weeks with a 4pm–7pm schedule and every-other-weekend rotation.

The position involves assisting with food preparation, serving residents, and maintaining a clean work area in accordance with facility policies. Compensation ranges from $16.50 to $19.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be 15 years of age or older.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
• Ability to follow safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment preferred.
• Previous senior care experience preferred.
• Serv Safe or other food safety certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides exemplary service to residents and guests with friendly and courteous service.
• Serves meals to residents per diet order and portion size at proper temperature.
• Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe, and organized work area with labeled and rotated products.
• Performs opening and closing duties and routine cleaning tasks.
• Notifies supervisor of changes in residents' health or needs.
• Responds to resident requests and special requests and documents concerns.
• Collaborates with team in a dynamic environment to support community operations.

The Dining Assistant is responsible for assisting with food preparation, serving and cleanup. This position maintains work area in proper order and follows established policies and procedures of the facility while demonstrating high levels of service.

Schedule: 21 hours/2 weeks l 4pm - 7pm with an every other weekend rotation. There are 7 shifts within the 14 day pay period

Pay: The targeted pay range for this job is $16.50 - $19.00 per hour. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

• Provides exemplary service to our residents, families and guests, ensuring all feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service.
• Serves meals to residents per diet order and portion size, and at the proper temperature. Complies with all federal and state regulations.
• Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe and efficiently organized work area. Products will be labeled, dated and rotated ensuring an adequate, fresh inventory of food and supplies. Operates all equipment, specific to duties, in a safe manner.
• Completes opening and closing duties as assigned. Accomplishes routine, daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities.
• Notifies supervisor if any changes in residents’ personal health is observed.
• Responds to resident requests and special requests, concerns or complaints and promptly notifies the supervisor.
• Partners effectively with others in a demanding and changing environment, supports all team members within the community as directed by the leadership team.
• Assists with special functions as directed.
• Demonstrates respect for facility property and supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Must be 15 years of age or older
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
• Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident’s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment
• Previous senior care experience
• Serv Safe or other food safety and sanitation training/certification
