Job summary

O'Neal Manufacturing Services (OMS) is seeking a Dimensional Quality Assurance Technician to inspect fabricated metal components and welded assemblies used in locomotives and power generation. You will interpret GD&T, set up CMMs like FARO, and generate clear inspection reports to drive corrective action.

You will coach operators on SPC, participate in PPAP/FAI/FPY, and support WPS creation while upholding ISO 9001:2015 standards and continuous Kaizen improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid grasp of GD&T and print interpretation.
• Experience with FARO or other CMM systems.
• Exposure to FMEA, PPAP, FAI or FPY, and Advanced Control Plans.
• Background in welding inspection and creating Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) preferred.
• ISO 9001:2015 experience is expected.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming material audits, first-piece checks, and open nonconformances; log into quality records.
• Set up and calibrate measurement tools and test equipment; maintain traceability.
• Interpret drawings/blueprints using GD&T to establish inspection criteria.
• Use FARO or CMM to perform dimensional analyses and generate inspection reports.
• Coach operators on SPC trends and capability; keep processes in control.
• Perform in-process and shipping audits; escalate when off-spec.
• Conduct destructive and non-destructive tests; support welding inspection and WPS creation.
• Contribute to PPAP, FAI/FPY, FMEA, and Advanced Control Plans; help refine work instructions.
• Participate in Kaizen; propose quality improvements.
• Work independently on complex assignments with detailed observations.
