Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a Dimensional Metrology Engineering Technologist for the Prototype Fabrication Applied Metrology group. You will write CMM programs, perform precision dimensional inspections, and collaborate with engineers and machinists to assure design conformity.

You will also support manufacturability reviews, select suitable measurement equipment, and mentor junior staff while maintaining sub-micron measurement capabilities in a high-precision lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Science, or related field and 8 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Write optimized CMM programs and verify measurements against design specifications.
• Perform dimensional inspections for components and assemblies to ensure conformance.
• Collaborate with engineers, machinists, inspectors and quality professionals to meet manufacturing standards.
• Support design for manufacturability reviews and select appropriate M&TE based on TUR.
