Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an inspection-focused professional to support dimensional and visual checks on manufactured parts using a suite of CMM tools and software. You will interpret blueprints, set up measurement programs, and document findings to help ensure part quality across facilities.

Based in Washington, this role requires 3+ years in inspection, US work eligibility, and a focus on precision measurement using Spatial Analyzer, PC-DMIS, Calypso and similar tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years experience in inspection roles or similar.

Responsibilities

• Operate Portable 3DMetrology Devices and measure highly reflective parts using Nikon LR Series and spatial analysis tools.
• Create, modify, and optimize CMM inspection programs using PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar software.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and documentation to guide inspection procedures.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspections with Spatial Analyzer, Hexagon, Faro, Arm, Tracker and hand tools.
• Document inspection data and prepare reports to track quality and identify issues.
• Identify defects and communicate issues to relevant personnel; support quality control.
• Contribute to inspection optimization projects and work both in a team and independently.

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• OperatePortable 3DMetrologyDevices:Experienceinoperating Nikon LRs with the ability to adjust measurement parameters and set up locations to measure highly reflective parts. Multi-instrumentsurveysinclude USMN, datum alignments and analysis to CAD, and setting up measurement and reporting templates inside spatial analyzer.

• Program Development and Modification:Create, modify, and optimize CMM inspection programs using software such as PC-DMIS or Calypso.

• Interpreting Blueprints:Understand and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and other documentation to guide inspection procedures.

• Performing Inspections:Conduct dimensional and visual inspections of manufactured parts, supporting on-machine and in-process inspections using the Spatial Analyzer, Hexagon, Faro, Arm, Tracker and hand tools.

• Documentation:Record inspection data, document findings, and prepare reports to track quality and identify potential issues.

• Problem Solving:Identifydefects andcommunicate issues to relevant personnel.

• Quality Control:Contribute to overall quality control efforts by verifying that manufactured parts meet specified standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education:High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Experience: 3+ years experience in inspection roles or similar.

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications(Preferred): CMM Certificationdemonstratingcompetency in operating and programming CMMs.Softwarecompetency, experiencewith industry-standard 3D inspection and processing software.

• Skills:Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify discrepancies, and troubleshoot issues.Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.Experience with CMM software such as PC-DMIS, Modus, Calypso, or similar.Excellent problem-solving skills to identify and resolve inspection-related issues.Effective communication skills to clearly convey inspection results and findings.Organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Perform inspections per drawing and work order requirements and document non-conformances.

• Understand practical applications of different inspection types and methodologies.

• Have significant awareness of interfaces between hardware inspections and the rest of the Quality organization.

• Troubleshoot inspection issues.

• Participate in the development of inspection optimization projects.

• Work within a team but independently perform inspections.

Base Pay Range for: WA applicants is $27.67 - $38.73
