Northrop Grumman is seeking a Dimension Control Technician 2/3 on D Shift in Iuka, MS. The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment with diverse tasks.

The candidate should have Level 2/3 qualifications, US government clearance, and be located in or near Iuka, MS. Primary salary ranges are provided with potential bonuses and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required for Level 2/3.
  • Experience with tool building and laser tracking in manufacturing.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds and work on ladders.
  • Ability to work in warehouse and shop floor environments.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Acrobat PDF.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out, fabricate, and assemble major jigs, fixtures, and tooling with precise tolerances.
  • Plan work using tool design drawings or own designs.
  • Set up and operate optical instruments to check alignment of assemblies.
  • Develop holding devices and jig/fixture details.
  • Prepare shop drawings and operation sequences for parts fabrication and assembly.
  • Monitor and verify quality using statistical process controls.

Dimension Control Technician 2/3 on D Shift: Friday to Sunday 6:00pm - 6:00am

This position will be located in Iuka, MS.


The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate, and collaborate across all levels, will thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented work environment with high expectations, enjoy significantly diverse assignments, demonstrate a high attention to detail to ensure accuracy of the product and have high integrity to self-report errors to a supervisor when detected. Essential Functions / Responsibilities


  • Lay out, fabricate, and assemble a variety of standard and nonstandard major jigs, fixtures, tool masters, master tooling gauges, and related tooling involving compound angles and complex contours where the establishment and coordination to exacting tolerances of numerous tooling holes and reference points between several planes are required.

  • Plan work to be performed and determines methods and sequence of operations working from tool design drawings or own designs.

  • Sets up and operates optical instruments to check overall and detailed alignment, fit, or adjustment of assemblies.

  • Develop and designs holding devices and jig and fixture details.

  • Prepare operational sequences and shop drawings covering parts fabrication and assembly to be performed by others.

  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.


This position may be filled as a Level 2 or Level 3 based on the qualifications outlined below.


Basic Qualifications Level 2


  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of related education and/or experience with tool building and laser tracking in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience devising reference systems and creating working build models

  • Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 35 pounds and ascend and descend ladders

  • Ability to work inside and outside in a warehouse environment and a shop floor environment

  • Ability to work within MS applications i.e., MS Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF

  • Currently have active U.S. Government Clearance in order to apply

  • Currently have active Special Program Access (PAR) in order to apply

  • Experience devising reference systems and creating working build models

Preferred Qualifications


  • Master level knowledge of multiple computer aided metrology systems such as laser trackers, articulated arms, scanners

  • 6+ years of Tool and Die or related experience

  • Experience in reverse engineering and model building from collected data

  • Knowledge of Integrated Systems Air Frames and Aero Structures

  • Experience with computer aided graphic interfaces (Verisurf X, SA and Maya matrix, Build!IT, and Polyworks)


Primary Level Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $83,300.00


Secondary Level Salary Range: $59,400.00 - $99,000.00


The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.


Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
