  • Coordinates updates with faculty, Deans, and department heads and schedules regular site updates
  • Supports cybersecurity collaboration with the law school's information services team
  • Provides training on Terminal4 (T4), Live Whale, and Qualtrics to law school users
  • Manages content publishing, event pages, calendars, and data collection systems

Position Title: Digital Web Communications Manager

Position Type: Fixed Term (Fixed Term)

Hiring Range: $82,600-$85,400; Compensation will be based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.

Position Purpose

The Digital Web Communications Manager is the primary webmaster for the School of Law. This role will: manage the law school's website infrastructure, providing guidance on technical issues and supporting its cybersecurity on a daily operational basis; oversee the functionality of the law school's website; evaluate and manage website performance; facilitate hosting and server management; and develop, maintain and update website content as well as long-term strategy and act as event support for the Advancement and Alumni Relations department. This work will be performed in close collaboration with Law Digital Media and University Marketing and Communications. Working closely with all law school departmental stakeholders, the Digital Web Communications Manager will support law school faculty and staff by being an expert in university-supported applications and using this expertise to facilitate training as it applies to digital communications.

B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. School of Law Website Management
  • Serves as primary webmaster for School of Law website
  • Oversees the management, maintenance, and long-term-strategy of the School of Law website to ensure accuracy, functionality, and alignment with University best practices.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for university QA / accessibility tools, including tracking and resolving web issues such as broken links, misspellings, broken media, other quality assurance and accessibility issues
  • Designs and develops front-end and back-end web architecture
  • Establishes and implements routine update schedule and manages regular updates and projects with key stakeholders, such as faculty, Deans, and department heads
  • Responsible for maintaining operational elements of website
  • Collaborates with University Marketing and Communications on branding and visuals
  • Works closely with the Assistant Director for Digital Media and Associate Director of Marketing & Communications on website content, planning and implementation of website organization
  • Implements regular updates to department pages
  • Troubleshoots website issues
  • Attend university-wide web meetings and trainings
  • Stays current on industry developments as well as best and captivating website design practices.
  • Collects, analyzes, and regularly reports on website usage data
2. Web Projects
  • Plans, implements, manages, monitors, and organizes the law school's overall website and related law department web pages
  • Plans, implements, and manages updates to the law school's content management systems, website refreshes, redesigns, and/or content migrations
  • Meets with law school partners in order to develop an annual schedule of digital content projects
  • Assists with the creation of event pages and email templates to complement printed collateral
  • Integrate print publications into a digital format including, but not limited to, the law school's DISCERN magazine, print marketing material, advancement & admissions viewbook
  • Serve as the point of contact to regularly communicate content development and publishing schedule and updates
  • Develops and facilitates user feedback and research to support ongoing improvements to website navigation, architecture, and interface, as well as the overall user experience of the website
  • Manage the Kasner website
3. Cybersecurity
  • Collaborates with the law school's information services team to ensure the proper cybersecurity
  • Identifies and responds to all law school website security breaches
  • Ensures that the law school's website is protected by exploring and enabling the appropriate security measures.
4. Application Training and Expertise
  • Facilitates training for web working group on Terminal4 (T4) usage and provides timely updates on T4 functionality
  • Becomes expert in single sign-on systems (SSO) for the law school, such as Terminal4 (T4) , calendering system (Live Whale), data collection (Qualtrics), etc.
  • Provides support to faculty and staff on Terminal4 (T4), calendaring system (Live Whale), and data collection (Qualtrics)
  • Facilitates training on Terminal4 (T4), calendaring system (Live Whale), and data collection (Qualtrics) for law school users
  • Acts as law school liaison with the university on meetings, updates, training opportunities related to digital technologies
  • Supervises student assistants
