Job summary

Iaas Lc in Smyrna, GA is seeking a Full-Time Engineering Intern to support research engineers in sensor systems. You will work on DSP design, MATLAB simulations, VHDL/FPGA development, and automated testing.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering, maintain a GPA of 3.0+, and are familiar with Linux/open source tools. Responsibilities include schematic capture and PCB layout with C/C++ coding.

Qualifications

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Assist Research Engineers in system engineering tasks within the Sensor Systems Engineering Division.
• Engage in digital signal processing design and simulation using MATLAB.
• Implement digital systems with VHDL and FPGA hardware.
• Test and characterize digital, analog, RF components, and systems.
• Develop and execute automated test scripts in NI LabVIEW.
• Analyze measured test data.
• Assemble and wire custom modules and chassis.
• Generate schematics and PCB layouts.
• Develop C/C++ code.

About You

The company is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Full-Time Interns must be registered for full-time internship credit; Part-Time Interns must be registered for 6 or more credit hours.
• Experience in one or more programming languages is preferred.
• Task or team leadership experience is preferred.
• Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts.
• Familiarity with Linux and open source tools.
• Experience with configuration management tools.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.

Compensation & Benefits

• Work hours range from 20 to 40 hours per week.
