Job summary

Jobtailor in Alabama seeks an experienced MBSE engineer to lead model-based systems engineering initiatives, crafting end-to-end architectures and traceability.

You will coordinate multi-discipline teams, develop automated scripting in Cameo and Velocity to accelerate reporting and ICD generation, and drive risk management across programs.

This role requires active Top Secret clearance or eligibility and strong communication skills to present designs and briefings.

Qualifications

• Top Secret Clearance required.
• Master's degree with 2+ years experience or Bachelor's with 4+ years experience.
• Hands-on experience with architectural system concepts, structural diagrams (BDDs, IBDs), and model-based configurations in Cameo or No Magic.
• Proven experience building template scripts (such as Apache Velocity) to drive report automation and documentation generation.
• Experience leading or coordinating engineering tasks and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent oral communication skills with history of briefings and design reviews.
• U.S. Citizenship is strictly required.
• Candidate must possess an active Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead MBSE conceptual model space to capture stakeholder requirements and establish end-to-end systems architecture and requirement-to-verification traceability.
• Formulate and lead multi-discipline requirements and architecture working groups to align engineering efforts with milestones.
• Develop, debug, and implement Velocity scripts within Cameo to support Report Automation and ICD generation.
• Drive system integration by linking toolsets and data models across the product lifecycle to simulate programs and test ecosystems.
• Perform risk identification and risk management modeling within system architectures.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, template validation, and syntax refinement for high-fidelity report creation.
• Foster teamwork and collaboration across matrixed organizations.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and expand the Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) conceptual model space to capture complex stakeholder requirements and establish end-to-end systems architecture and requirement-to-verification traceability.
• Formulate, establish, and lead dedicated multi-discipline requirements and architecture working groups to ensure engineering development efforts and technical project management milestones are aligned with expectations.
• Develop, debug, and implement automated scripts using Apache Velocity / Velocity Template Language (VTL) within Cameo Systems Modeler to support complex Report Automation, Documentations compilation, and the autogeneration of dynamic Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
• Drive system integration by linking engineering toolsets and open-source data models across the product lifecycle to simulate real-world programs and test digital integrated ecosystems.
• Perform risk identification and risk management modeling within system architectures to establish standardized tracking methodology.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, template validation, and syntax refinement to guarantee high-fidelity report creation and data consistency within model repositories.
• Foster strong Teamwork and Work Collaboratively across matrixed organizations.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret Clearance
• Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or a related STEM discipline with 2+ years of experience; OR a bachelor’s degree in engineering, general science, or physics with 4+ years of core systems engineering and systems architecture experience.
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience developing architectural system concepts, structural diagrams (BDDs, IBDs), and model‑based configurations within Cameo Systems Modeler or other No Magic tools.
• Proven experience building and applying template scripts (such as Apache Velocity) to drive report automation and technical documentations generation inside system modeling environments.
• Prior experience leading or coordinating engineering tasks, showing foundational technical project management capabilities and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent oral communication skills with a history of delivering internal/external briefings, design reviews, or technical demonstrations.
• U.S. Citizenship is strictly required.
• Candidate must possess an active Top Secret security clearance.
