Job summary

XDIN, a subsidiary of ALTEN Group, seeks a talented automotive surface designer based in Greensboro, NC. You will create complex digital surfaces from concept through production Class-A levels and translate sketches into 3D surfaces in close collaboration with exterior/interior design teams.

You will work with engineers to ensure feasibility, bring forward innovative ideas, and thrive in a high-pressure environment with a proactive, communicative team mindset.

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating automotive design work.
• BS/BA in design, engineering or transportation-related field.
• MFA is a plus for advanced design roles.
• High proficiency in Alias, ICEM Surf or equivalent surfacing software.
• Proficiency in VRED or Keyshot for rendering.

Responsibilities

• Create complex and high-quality digital automotive surfaces.
• Create digital surfaces from concept to production Class-A level.
• Interpret 2D sketches and renderings into 3D surfaces.
• Collaborate with exterior/interior design staff.
• Work with engineering and packaging to meet feasibility criteria.

Responsibilities

• Create complex and high-quality digital automotive surfaces
• Create digital automotive surfaces ranging from early concept to production Class-A level
• Interpret 2D sketches and renderings into 3D surfaces
• Work closely together with exterior and interior design staff
• Work closely together with engineering and packaging engineers to incorporate all feasibility criteria

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months working in or for an OEM automotive design studio
• A portfolio is a MUST.
• BS, BA or MFA degree in design, engineering or transportation-related
• High proficiency in Alias, ICEM Surf or equivalent surfacing program
• Proficiency in VRED, Keyshot or equivalent rendering program
• Understanding of production automotive development and procedures
• Intuitive feeling and passion for automotive design
• Work in a high-pressure environment with quick turn-around
• Proactive team player with excellent communication skills
• Forward, innovative thinking for future vehicles
• Professional, motivated and pro-active working attitude
