Job summary

Internationalinsuranceprofessionals staff accountant role supporting the Corporate Accounting Department in the monthly close, analyzing TV station performance, and preparing journal entries and AP for the Digital business.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, strong communication and customer service skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. On-site role in Irving, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must have strong customer service skills.
• Proficiency with office equipment (phones, copiers, scanners, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly accounting journal entries.
• Prepare quarterly / annual schedules for the external auditors.
• Assist with preparation of the Monthly Financial Reporting Package for management review.
• Analyze general ledger accounts & monthly financial analysis.
• Review and/or analyze general ledger accounts.
• Assist with the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist in data entry of vendor invoices and credits.
• Assist with vendor analysis and invoice approvals.
• Handle various accounting projects as assigned by the Sr. Accounting Manager.
• Enforce internal control and corporate accounting policies.

Job description

The Staff Accountant supports the Corporate Accounting Department in various tasks related to the monthly accounting close process including the analysis of financial performance of various TV stations, preparing monthly journal entries, Accounts Payable processing for the Digital business, complying with monthly internal SOX controls, and other accounting functions to assist with the monthly close process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of monthly accounting journal entries.
• Prepare quarterly / annual schedules for the external auditors.
• Assist with preparation of the Monthly Financial Reporting Package for management review.
• Analyze general ledger accounts & prepare monthly financial analysis.
• Review and/or analyze general ledger accounts.
• Assist with the preparation of various balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist in the accurate & timely data entry of vendor invoices and credits.
• Assist with vendor analysis and coordination of invoice approvals.
• Various accounting projects as assigned by the Sr. Accounting Manager.
• Enforce internal control and other corporate accounting policies and procedures.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

The Staff Accountant must be able to sit, reach, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition, the Accountant must be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required.
