Job summary

Performix is seeking a Senior Digital Solutions Architect to design, develop, and deploy industrial automation software solutions. The role focuses on Geo SCADA and AVEVA/Ignition platforms, with strong system integration and mentoring responsibilities.

You will lead SCADA design across manufacturing, energy, and utilities, while coordinating with clients and project managers. Remote work is possible in EST/CST hours to align with client needs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a SCADA Architect focusing on Geo SCADA, AVEVA System Platform, AVEVA PI, and Ignition SCADA.
• Expertise with SCADA architectures, data modeling, and integration with PLC/RTU/SCADA systems.
• Experience with automation to improve UX and with system integration using OPC DA/UA, Modbus, DNP3, JSON, REST, and XML.
• Ability to create SQL databases and write custom SQL queries/logic.
• Create or modify PLC programs using Structured Text, Function Block Diagrams, and Ladder Logic.
• Experience managing multiple projects and collaborating with engineers.

Responsibilities

Contract: 6 months with strong potential of extension to be longer

Location: This is remote but they will need to be able to support working on EST or CST time zones from wherever they live.

We are seeking a talented Digital SolutionsArchitect to join our team and take charge of designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge industrial automation software solutions. As a Digital Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for creating robust and scalable software architectures that meet the specific needs of our clients and drive innovation in the industrial automation space.

The ideal candidate is familiar with systems integration using a variety of technologies. It is not expected that they will have experience with all of them. A motivated and self-driven candidate with a background in a variety of industrial automation technologies will be the best fit. Innovative technologies may emerge as the Client and AVEVA software portfolios continued to grow.

What will you do?

• Design and develop SCADA systems using various software suites, including Client Geo SCADA, AVEVA (Wonderware) System Platform, AVEVA (Wonderware) Historian, AVEVA (OSI) PI, Ignition SCADA, etc.
• Configure and program SCADA software to monitor and control various industrial processes, such as manufacturing, energy, mining, and utilities.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand system requirements and develop solutions that align with their needs.
• Lead a project team consisting of multiple engineering members of the Digital Solutions team, breaking down high-level deliverables into work tasks and ensuring these deliverables meet quality standards.
• Mentor and coach other engineering members for the Digital Solutions team.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot SCADA software and related components such as PLCs, ensuring proper integration with existing infrastructure.
• Integrate SCADA systems with historians (e.g., AVEVA PI, AVEVA Historian) for data acquisition, analysis, and reporting purposes.
• Develop custom scripts using scripting languages (e.g., .NET, JavaScript, Python, VBScript, etc.) to enhance system functionality and performance.
• Conduct system testing and commissioning to ensure the accurate functioning of SCADA systems, addressing any issues or discrepancies that arise.
• Perform system upgrades and modifications, adhering to industry best practices and ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, troubleshooting system issues, and offering timely resolutions.
• Participate in training to stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in SCADA technologies.

Travel: Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.

Travel is roughly expected to be around 25% but is dependent on customer and project needs. Rarely will require travel and will know ahead of time, most travel will be shared with FTEs.
