Job summary

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions in Herndon, VA seeks a DSP/FPGA Engineer to design, simulate, implement and test DSP functions in FPGA firmware and embedded software. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team to convert signals between RF and digital domains.

The role covers design documentation, requirements analysis, prototyping, testing, and automation, with opportunities to advance CI/CD pipelines and MATLAB/Python workflows using RF test equipment.

Qualifications

• DSP skills using Matlab or Python/NumPy/SciPy for signal processing.
• FPGA development experience with VHDL/Verilog on Xilinx/Altera devices.
• Embedded software experience in C++ on ARM with Git version control.
• Knowledge of multi-rate filters, channel estimation and equalization.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an DSP/FPGA Engineer to join our Kratos Product Engineering team. The DSP/FPGA Engineer will be responsible for the design, simulation, implementation, and test of DSP functions implemented in a combination of FPGA firmware and embedded software. The role includes a wide scope of activities such as design documentation, technical requirement analysis, prototyping, testing, and automation. The DSP/FPGA Engineer will be working on a multi-disciplinary engineering team including FPGA firmware developers, embedded software developers, and hardware developers to design a variety of embedded products focused on conversion of signals between RF and digital domains.

Experience And Skills

• Digital Signal Processing (Matlab or Python/NumPy/SciPy)
• FPGA development (VHDL/Verilog, AMD-Xilinx/Altera)

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Embedded Software (C++, ARM, Git)
