Job summary

West Chester University seeks an Electronic Resources Technician (Library Technician) to support access and management of e-resources within the library systems. The role focuses on administering databases, journals, e-books, and streaming media through the ILS, ensuring timely access for students and staff.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills, with experience in library workflows, and the ability to collaborate with acquisitions,

Qualifications

• Four years of library-clerical work including two years of advanced library clerical work comparable to Library Assistant II.
• Two years of advanced library clerical work with an associate degree or equivalent training in library science.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide access to electronic resources and ensure discoverability within the ILS and catalog.
• Configure authentication for electronic resources and manage resource allocations in OpenAthens and link resolvers.
• Maintain collection inventory and linking information in vendor sites and knowledgebase.
• Maintain Springshare’s Databases A-Z list and assist patrons with access issues.
• Serve as technical contact for vendors and manage ticketing for issues.
• Collaborate with library teams on the electronic resource lifecycle.
