Job summary

Personnel Data Systems, Inc. (PDS) seeks a 911 Dispatcher Trainee – Public Safety Telecommunicator for Centre County. This full-time, non-exempt role runs 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, Mon–Fri, with hours set by the department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6–12 months clerical experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Ensure digital records are securely stored and classified in the county’s system.
• Work with confidential documents from multiple county offices.
• Prepare paper records for scanning and remove staples/bindings.
• Organize and index records based on retention schedules.
• Operate high-speed scanners and capture digital images.
• Index scanned images with metadata (case number, parcel ID, document type, date).
• Perform quality checks to ensure images are clear and properly indexed.
• Identify damaged records and escalate as needed.
• Follow privacy and records management policies, including HIPAA or CJIS if applicable.
• Assist with uploading, filing, or archiving digital records.
• May assist with destruction of originals after digitization.
• Support inventorying, labeling, or retrieving documents.
• Receive files via interoffice mail and retrieve from storage for distribution.
