Job summary

Syensqo is seeking a Digital Engineer to join our team as we deploy the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and a process data platform at selected plants. You will sit at the intersection of operations, automation, and IT, making data trustworthy enough to act on and turning raw signals into reliable analytics that improve plant performance.

You will roll out MES from deployment through configuration, testing and go-live, shape the plant's digital strategy, coach data teams, and collaborate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Experience in at least one of: data collection / historians, PLCs, HMIs, DCSs, software solutions, or electrical & instrumentation.
  • Practical, floor-facing mindset - comfortable moving between the control room, the plant floor, and a laptop full of scripts.

Responsibilities

  • Support the hands-on rollout of the MES at the site - from initial deployment through configuration, testing, and go-live.
  • Shape and drive the plant's digital strategy, connecting the MES rollout to the site's broader manufacturing improvement goals.
  • Act as the site Single Point of Contact for questions and issues on the process information / historian software (e.g. data historian, MES, and related process data tools).
  • Coach site data teams through manufacturing improvement projects, so they can operate and extend the new tools once the rollout team moves on.
  • Work with data scientists, process engineers, and automation & instrumentation specialists to refine tags, instrumentation, and data structures for quality data.
  • Train site personnel on the new software and provide on-the-floor and remote support during rollouts.
  • Write scripts to deliver data with the required quality, consistency, and format for analytics and models.
  • Define and set up data quality, availability, and consistency metrics and drive the validation process.
  • Contribute to the internal data community with knowledge sharing and best practices.

Job description

Syensqo is all about chemistry. We're not just referring to chemical reactions here, but also to the magic that occurs when the brightest minds get to work together. This is where our true strength lies. In you. In your future colleagues and in all your differences. And of course, in your ideas to improve lives while preserving our planet's beauty for the generations to come.

We are looking for:
  • A Digital Engineer to join the team deploying our new Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and process data platform at selected plants.
  • These sites are installing new digital tools to capture, contextualise, manage, and query manufacturing data - turning raw process signals into reliable analytics that improve plant performance.
  • You'll sit at the intersection of operations, automation, and IT, and be the person who makes the data trustworthy enough to act on.
We can count on you for:
  • Supporting the hands-on rollout of the MES at the site - from initial deployment through configuration, testing, and go-live.
  • Helping shape and drive the plant's digital strategy, connecting the MES rollout to the site's broader manufacturing improvement goals.
  • Acting as the site Single Point of Contact for questions and issues on the process information / historian software (e.g. data historian, MES, and related process data tools).
  • Coaching site data teams through manufacturing improvement projects, so they can operate and extend the new tools once the rollout team moves on.
  • Working alongside data scientists, process engineers, and automation & instrumentation specialists to refine tags, instrumentation, and data structures so the right data is captured at the right quality.
  • Training site personnel on the new software and providing both on-the-floor and remote support to your own site and our other plants during their rollouts.
  • Writing scripts to deliver data with the quality, consistency, and format required to feed advanced analytics and models.
  • Defining and setting up data quality, availability, and consistency metrics - and driving the testing process that validates the data before the business relies on it.
  • Contributing actively to the internal data community, sharing knowledge and best practices (for example, technical articles on MES software and lessons learned from rollout).
You can count on us for:
  • A real opportunity to grow across networking, industrial automation, programming, and IT while working in a live manufacturing environment. Structured training and development is provided, and you'll be part of a global team rolling out the same tools across multiple sites.
You will bring:
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Experience in at least one of: data collection / historians, PLCs, HMIs, DCSs, software solutions, or electrical & instrumentation.
  • A practical, floor-facing mindset - comfortable moving between the control room, the plant floor, and a laptop full of scripts.
You will get:
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $98,720-$123,400 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
  • 16, or more, weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations
  • Training platform for all employees
  • Free well-being sessions (physical and psychological)
  • 401-K Match
