Job summary

Taylor Corporation in Duluth, GA, is looking for a Press Production Manager to lead daily digital press operations, drive performance across production, quality, safety, and continuous improvement. You will manage schedules, mentor operators, ensure on-time production, and coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime while meeting customer commitments.

The role requires strong leadership, 3–5+ years in print production, and expertise in press setup and quality control.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of commercial or digital print production experience.
  • Strong understanding of digital presses and production workflows.
  • Experience leading, supervising, or managing in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of press setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Ability to manage production schedules, priorities, capacity constraints, and workflow demands.
  • Knowledge of print quality requirements, color management, and defect identification.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to implement corrective actions.
  • Strong communication and employee development skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily press production to meet schedules, customer commitments, and shipping requirements.
  • Review production schedules and establish priorities for the shift.
  • Ensure jobs are started, produced, completed, and moved to the next operation on time.
  • Monitor production performance and adjust priorities when equipment or staffing issues affect output.
  • Identify bottlenecks and escalation issues before they impact delivery commitments.
  • Ensure digital presses are operated safely and according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Monitor press performance, run speeds, uptime, downtime, and production output.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance to resolve equipment issues and reduce recurring failures.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards including first-piece approvals and routine quality audits.
  • Lead, coach, and develop press operators while holding employees accountable for performance, attendance, quality, and productivity.
  • Conduct shift meetings and ensure effective communication between shifts.
  • Maintain accurate production information and communicate schedule risks immediately.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including uptime, labor utilization, waste, reprints, first-pass yield, and on-time completion.
  • Enforce safety procedures, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout practices.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime, waste, changeover time, and rework.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and operator checklists.

This position is responsible for ensuring customer commitments are met, production schedules are achieved, equipment is operating efficiently, and teams are supported through strong leadership and accountability.

Your Responsibilities

You Must Have
  • 3-5+ years of commercial or digital print production experience.
  • Strong understanding of digital presses and production workflows.
  • Experience working in a high-volume production environment.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of digital press setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Ability to manage production schedules, priorities, capacity constraints, and workflow demands.
  • Knowledge of print quality requirements, registration, color management, and defect identification.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Strong communication and employee development skills.
  • Experience using production management systems, scheduling software, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe operating procedures.
We Would Also Prefer
  • Experience with HP Indigo, Nozomi, or comparable high-production digital printing equipment.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, A3, 5-Why, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience leading multi-shift operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience within commercial print, direct mail, packaging, or other high-volume manufacturing environments.
