Southwest Label & Printing in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Digital Press Operator Trainee to join our on-site team. The role supports setup and operation of digital presses to produce custom labels per job specifications.

You will assist with pre-press checks, load substrates, and monitor print quality while learning standard operating procedures and safety practices from experienced operators.

Qualifications

• The candidate should be capable of machine operation and basic equipment handling in a production environment.
• Familiarity with digital printing processes and quality control practices is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot common machine and production issues in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience with pre-press activities, file review, and job preparation for print.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and meet deadlines.
• Basic computer literacy and comfort with digital production systems and software.
• Willingness to learn and grow into an independent press operator role.
• High school diploma or equivalent; prior manufacturing/printing experience is beneficial but not required.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and adhere to safety standards.

Role Description The Digital Press Operator Trainee is a full-time, on-site role based in Tempe, AZ. This role supports the setup, operation, and monitoring of digital printing presses to produce custom labels according to job specifications. Daily tasks include preparing materials, loading substrates, assisting with pre-press file checks, and performing routine press adjustments. The trainee inspects printed output for quality, records production data, and communicates issues or maintenance needs to supervisors. This role also involves following safety procedures, learning standard operating practices, and collaborating with experienced press operators and production team members.
