Description

As a Digital Press Operator, you will operate a digital printing press engaged in the production of printed products in a safe and efficient manner. This includes set-up of the press (inks, coatings, etc.) as specified in the work ticket. You will complete quality checks to ensure that the printed product meets all functional requirements. You will load substrates onto the press and record all required production data into the shop floor data collection system. Additionally, you will wash up press components and perform basic housekeeping and preventive maintenance tasks as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform typical press operations to support production.
2. Review job tickets to ensure proper setup according to specifications.
3. Run jobs and log completion details.
4. Monitor printed rolls for quality and consistency.
5. Move finished rolls to the finishing department and complete line clearance.
6. Communicate discrepancies to supervisors or managers.
7. Ensure proper data collection for each job.
8. Perform basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
9. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
10. Participate in continuous improvement activities and training.
11. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of press or printing-related experience.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Good communication skills.
• Proficient in basic computer skills and ERP systems.
• Proactive and detail-oriented.
• Good organizational skills.
• Knowledge of press operation and troubleshooting.
• Mechanical aptitude for press operation and maintenance.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Constant physical activity including lifting, standing, crouching, and walking.
• Lift up to 75 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs regularly.
• Exposure to dust, noise, ink, and warehouse temperatures.
• Use of safety equipment including safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, and cut-resistant gloves.
