Cursive is hiring a full-time Digital Press Operator at our Mason, OH facility to run HP Indigo presses producing premium labels and shrink sleeves for brands in wine & spirits, health & beauty, and food & beverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in digital, flexo, offset, or commercial print preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run HP Indigo digital presses (start to finish) including setup, operation, and monitoring.
• Hold color consistency and meet customer specifications on every run.
• Read and use job tickets to confirm substrates, inks, and finishing requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance on the press regularly.
• Diagnose defects and escalate to HP support when needed.
• Aim for uptime and throughput while preserving quality.
• Record production, quality, and material usage data accurately.
• Suggest improvements to reduce waste and shorten changeovers.
• Coordinate with shift supervisor, scheduler, and finishing team.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe.

Press Operators: Come Run the Newest Equipment in Greater Cincinnati

We are actively filling 2nd shift and weekend shift openings, and give strong preference to candidates available for those schedules. If you’ve been running an older press in a shop that hasn’t reinvested in years, this is the change you’ve been waiting for. Cursive prints labels and packaging for some of the biggest consumer brands in the country — and we do it on HP Indigo digital presses in a bright, clean, modern plant.

The Opportunity

We’re hiring a full-time Digital Press Operator. You’ll run HP Indigo presses producing premium labels and shrink sleeves for brands in wine & spirits, health & beauty, and food & beverage.

Location note: This position is based at our Mason, OH facility (8467 Duke Blvd) — roughly 21 miles and a 25-30 minute drive straight up I-71 from downtown Cincinnati. Free on-site parking, no downtown traffic, and no garage fees.

Requirements

What You’ll Do

• Run HP Indigo digital presses (6K, 25K, or similar) start to finish — setup, operation, and monitoring
• Hold color consistency and hit customer specifications on every run
• Read and work from job tickets to confirm correct substrates, inks, and finishing requirements
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance on your press
• Diagnose and correct print defects on the fly; escalate to HP remote or on-site support when needed
• Drive uptime and throughput while protecting quality
• Record production, quality, and material usage data accurately
• Bring forward ideas to reduce waste and shorten changeovers
• Work closely with the shift supervisor, scheduler, and finishing team
• Keep your area clean, organized, and safe
• Pitch in elsewhere on the floor when the plant needs it

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior printing industry experience required — digital, flexo, offset, or commercial print all considered
• Label, shrink-sleeve, or narrow-web experience strongly preferred
• HP Indigo experience is a significant plus; Level I Indigo Certification even better
• Solid color judgment and the ability to spot a defect before it becomes waste
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability
• Clear communicator who works well with a team
• Comfortable managing priorities in a fast-paced production setting
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Availability for 2nd shift or the weekend shift strongly preferred

Shift Schedule

We Run Four-day Weekday Shifts And a Three-day Weekend Shift, So Every Schedule Here Comes With At Least Three Consecutive Days Off

• 1st shift — Tuesday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Three-day weekend, every week.
• 2nd shift — Tuesday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Three-day weekend, every week, plus a shift differential.
• Weekend shift — Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Full-time hours in three days, four days off every week, plus a shift differential.

A shift differential is paid for 2nd shift and the weekend shift. We are currently prioritizing candidates available for either of those schedules — please note your availability when you apply.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
• Ability to work safely around moving equipment in a moderately loud production environment
• Visual acuity to distinguish color, detail, and print quality
