Job summary

New Era Cap seeks a Digital Photography Technician to manage digital assets and produce ecommerce-ready images. You will work with the Creative Services team to ensure high-quality photography, accurate cataloging, and efficient studio workflow in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years imaging/studio experience and strong command of Adobe Creative Suite, Capture One, and DAM systems. This on-site role offers growth within a dynamic sports/lifestyle brand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in photography/communications or related field preferred; relevant experience may replace degree.
• 1–3 years hands-on digital imaging and studio experience required.
• Experience with digital asset management and product photography is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Organize assets using the DAM system (Widen).
• Create digital images for ecommerce use.
• Log and catalog images and descriptions with accuracy.
• Collaborate with photographers on setup, crop, color correct and upload photos for retouching.
• Maintain efficient workflow in the photo studio and meet deadlines.
• Keep sensitive matters confidential.

Digital Photography Technician

The Digital Photography Technician compiles, organizes and maintains the digital assets created by both internal and external photography partners. Focusing on quality control, this position ensures all incoming and outgoing photographed and rendered images are accurate and delivered to requested specifications. Additionally, this role assists the photography team in all aspects of technical studio set-up and maintenance, occasional rendering/retouching and overall team support as needed.

New Era’s Creative Services team is a strategic internal partner delivering brand-aligned creative solutions across photography, retouching, creative development, and production design to support business needs and bring brand, sport, and lifestyle initiatives from concept to market.

Responsibilities

• Organize assets using company Digital Asset Management system (Widen)
• Create digital images for use in ecommerce
• Compile, organize and maintain digital assets created by both internal and external photography partners
• Log and catalog images and descriptions with accuracy
• Recognize file types and convert accordingly to work within appropriate programs
• Receive, organize and prepare product for photography
• Work with Photographers to organize, crop, color correct, name and upload product photography to retouching partners
• Download retouched and rendered images from FTP servers and upload images into New Era’s digital asset management system
• Complete DAM maintenance and upkeep regularly
• Maintain efficient workflow in the photo studio and ensure all deadlines are met
• Communicate with third party vendors regarding capacity and workflow
• Keep all sensitive matters confidential
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proficient in both MAC and PC environments
• Complete knowledge of the Adobe Creative suite with an emphasis on Photoshop, Bridge and Lightroom
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel
• Must have a thorough understanding of studio photography and lighting concepts
• Curious by nature, open to new ways of working with emerging AI technology
• Extraordinary technical and organizational skills
• Not satisfied with mediocrity with a willingness to create positive change by constantly looking for ways to improve
• Work well under tight deadlines with running changes in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with various professional photography programs such as Capture One preferred
• Knowledge of SAP preferred
• Appreciation or interest in sports/lifestyle apparel is desired

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in photography/communications or related technical field preferred; relevant job experience in lieu of degree will be considered
• One (1) to Three (3) years hands-on digital imaging/studio experience required

The salary range for this posted position is $50,000 - $62,000 (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Actual compensation will fall within this range and is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
