Job summary

Caris Life Sciences is seeking a Laboratory Technician to manage the slide-scanning workflow in the clinical laboratory, including operation and basic troubleshooting of Whole Slide Scanners, slide retrieval, and QC of digital images for pathologist review.

You will coordinate receipt of glass slides, optimize scan placement, maintain scanners, support software testing, and collaborate with IHC, Lab Operations, and Pathology teams while upholding GLP and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with emphasis on biological or physical sciences.
• Experience with whole-slide imaging in histopathology data collection is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate receipt for scanning of glass slides from different sources and assess quality for scanning.
• Operate the Whole Slide Scanners used by the department.
• Evaluate workflow to optimize slide placement on scanners and maintain scan prioritization.
• Review generated images for quality issues and re-scan as needed.
• Assist with testing software solutions to support the department.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with safety requirements.
