Caris Life Sciences is seeking a skilled laboratory technician to oversee the slide-scanning function within our clinical lab, ensuring timely, accurate digitization of glass slides and quality control of images for pathologist review.
The role requires meticulous attention to SOPs, calibration and maintenance of Whole Slide Scanners, collaboration across departments, and adherence to GLP and safety standards. Travel and occasional after-hours work are expected.

The technician is responsible for the overall slide-scanning functions of the clinical laboratory including the routine operation and basic troubleshooting of the Whole Slide Scanners, retrieval of glass slides to be digitized, QC by visual inspection of the generated Whole Slide Images, and the testing of new software solutions to support the department. This position works under the direction of the supervisor and follows standard laboratory procedures and policies.
Must possess ability to sit, stand, and/or work at a computer for long periods of time. May have exposure to blood-borne pathogens, extreme temperatures, high noise levels, fumes and bio-hazardous material/chemicals including formalin in the lab environment. Visual acuity and analytical skill to distinguish fine detail. Ability to pass a visual color discrimination test.

This position requires periodic travel and some evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
