Zusammenfassung

The Digital Pathology Technician at Moffitt Cancer Center will be responsible for scanning, managing, and quality controlling pathology slides in a digital format for diagnostic and research use. You will operate digital pathology scanners, ensure accurate scanning, and maintain data tied to digital images.

You will work closely with pathologists, laboratory staff, and IT to facilitate a seamless digital pathology workflow, uphold high accuracy, and support multiple software systems.

Qualifikationen

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in laboratory technology, histotechnology, or biomedical engineering.
  • Familiarity with digital imaging software and slide scanners.

The Digital Pathology Technician is responsible for the scanning, management, and quality control of pathology slides in a digital format for diagnostic and research purposes. The role involves operating and maintaining digital pathology scanners, ensuring accurate scanning of slides, managing data associated with the digital images, and supporting the workflow in the digital pathology lab.

The technician will work closely with pathologists, laboratory staff, and IT personnel to facilitate a seamless digital pathology process.

Digital Pathology Technician

Minimum Education Level: Associate's Degree

Minimum Field of Study: laboratory technology, histotechnology, biomedical engineering, or related field.

Minimum Education Notes: Preferred Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Preferred Field of Study: laboratory technology, histotechnology, biomedical engineering, or related field.

Preferred Licensure: No Minimum Licensure: Minimum Licensure (Other): Training Required: Technical Skills: Familiarity with digital imaging software, pathology slide scanners, and basic IT concepts. Understanding of data management and medical recordkeeping. Ability to work with multiple different software systems and applications.

Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain high accuracy and attention to detail, especially when scanning and verifying the quality of pathology slides.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with pathologists, lab staff, and IT personnel.

Physical Requirements: Ability to handle and scan a large number of slides and sit or stand for extended periods as needed.

Preferred Licensure: Licensed Clinical Lab Technologist (MT/TN)

Preferred Licensure (Other): Laboratory Technician
