Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL is seeking a Surgical Technologist I under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will scrub, handle instruments and supplies, anticipate surgeon needs, and ensure quality patient care. This role may include assignments in other Perioperative Services roles.

Minimum education is a High School Diploma or GED; BLS is required. CST certification within 12 months of hire/transfer from NBSTSA or NCCT is required; Associate's Degree preferred.

Summary Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist I acts as a scrub person who handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure, anticipates the needs of the surgeon and surgical team and has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care; Responsible for assisting with support services in the delivery of care to operative patients, including transportation, independent inventory management, environmental cleanliness and direct assistance to patients, visitors and staff. This role includes assignments in other ancillary roles within Perioperative Services.
