Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Digital Processing Technician in the Digital Pathology Department to support surgical pathology cases and referrals from outside institutions.

You will prepare and process microscopy slides for scanning, route materials to pathologists, and coordinate with pathology staff. Documentation uses Beaker and related systems; collaboration with Histology and Surgical Pathology is daily.

Qualifications

• High school education required; associates degree or higher preferred in medical laboratory tech or biological science.
• Meets minimum continuing education requirements; health surveillance requirements.
• Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process microscopy slides for scanning.
• Direct materials to pathologists and other pathology personnel; respond to requests for diagnostic specimens.
• Record specimens/projects using Beaker and other databases; coordinate with Histology and Surgical Pathology.
